There are many different tools I use to expand my professional learning network to help enhance my teaching. By having multiple different PLNs, I am able to find the resources I need and collaborate with other professionals. Symbaloo also allows me to bookmark and share my resources in an organized way.

Twitter
Twitter is known for its use of hashtags. When creating your PLN, this is a great place to start. It is simple to follow people with the same interests and those same people are able to folow you back. It can be thoughtful and powerful because many resources can be shared and a lot of information can be avaialble.
edWeb
EdWeb is a free professional community where teachers are able to connect and collaborate with other colleagues in education. This professional learning community supports all educators who are using digital resources for instruction. Webinars are provided to highlight different tools for integrating digital resources in the classroom.

Canvas
Canvas is the tool that Howard County teachers are required to use. There are different communities that teachers can join to find instructional resources. Each commnity provides different learning opportunities. Discussions, modules, document files, calendar events, and collaboration resources are many of the different features that each community can provide.
 
Google Chat
Google chat allows for colleagues to communicate with one another. It allows for face-to-face communication. This type of interaction can happen through text, voice, or video. Group chats are also available through Google Hangouts. This allows for multiple teachers to communicate, collaborate, and share resources in a simple way.

Pinterest
Pinterest is easy to use and a lot of information can be searched on this tool. Pinterest is a website and an app and can be used easily on any phone, tablet, or laptop. Also, it is easy to follow people who have similar interests. There are many resources available on pinterest along with information outside the education system.
